THis painting below is a large oil on stretched canvas that I finished in 1996.
It was inspired by a female cheetah that I knew when I lived in Kenya from 1985-1987.
In 1986 this beautiful animal had 3 young she was rasing in Samburu Game Reserve just north of Mt. Kenya and the frontier village of Isiolo, where I lived.
I located her at the base of this large acacia tree 3 times over a 3 month period.
The base of the tree was split [possibly by a lightening strike] and formed a huge ear, where she would stand and survey her terrain and begin her hunt.
The original is 30 by 36 inches unframed .
Framed in the black walnut and pine as you see it here it is 36 by 42 inches.
It is for sell in the gallery for $2,800.00.

The above photos [after the Cheetah] show an original oil painting by myself,Bruce Stowe
and is titled "Neighbors Passing" and shows two Amish buggies in 1996 in Holmes County, OHIO. THe price is $850.00 and email me for a shipping quote.

Above
The above painting is an original French impressionist oil painting that has just celebrated its 100th birthday this past 2004 [1904-2004].
It is considered a MASTERPIECE by a well known and documented Impressionist artist .
His name is Louis Gustave Cambier [ Brussels 1874- Ixelles 1949].
The painting is a view of the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, and dated 1904.
You see the priests dressed in black making their way to the entrance.
It is painted on stretched canvas and it hung in the Brussels Museum
for over 20 years and was considered Cambier's masterpiece in the 1930's.
It is presented in it's original 1730-50's gold gilded frame.
Cambier perfected himself with Paul Signac and Matisse in Paris
after being a pupil of Portaels at the Brussels Academy.
Paul Signac is often referred to as the father of IMPRESSIONISM!
During WW I he stayed with his wife Juliette [also an artist] in Cagnes where he met Renior.
The painting measures 29.5 inches by 42 inches not counting the frame.
Cambier exhibited in Paris and receieved an honorable mention in 1906
from the Salon de Artistes Francais of which he was also a member.
This painting is one of his best and is listed
in the Benezith in 1929-30 with a black and white photo.
It is priced in the gallery at $8,850.00 and was appraised at over 20,000.00 EUROS
in 2000 when it was listed in a French Estate.

THE PHOTO Above IS A PAINTING I did in 1998 of the Bridenbaugh Schoolhouse near Pandora, OH.
It is a Bruce James Stowe original on canvas board [ 16 x 20 inches] and the medium is oil paint.
The original is for sell for $800.00 in the gallery.
I do have beautiful 16 by 20 inch prints on stretched canvas for $125.00 per print. It is difficult to tell the difference between the original and this limited edition print.
THe print is Limited to only 25 prints.
The 1889 one room red brick school house has been meticulously
restored to its 1900 condition and fully furbished
as a living museum with the ability to hold classes if need be as they did in 1900.

THIS Black and white mug is a prehistoric Anasazi pottery piece and is a Mesa Verde Mug. I have all the legal documentation as almost 1/2 of the mug is restored . Still a very nice example of this type of prehistoric pottery from A.D. 1150 to 1250 . It is 4.25 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide.
This is in the museum but is available for purchase. Here is a chance to own a Mug from the southwest and a Mesa Verde one at an affordable price $275.00.
To your left and below you see a wonderful large 7.5 inch high blue glass pitcher made by the Model Flint Glass Company of Findlay, Ohio. It is the blue double eye hobnail pattern and is very clear and great detail. It is nearly perfect with just two small nicks in two of the hobnails [that I have yet to find]. THis next antique [seen below] came from the Atlanta Toy Museum that was closed and the contents were auctioned off by Noel Barrett in 1986. Noel did this from his auction house in Craversville, PA, which is outside of Philadelphia, PA. You know Noel if you have ever watched the Antique Road Show on PBS .This is a wonderful miniature, carved, pewter cupboard or hutch from the last half of the 19th century [last halfof the 1800's]. It has lost the bottom cupboard , but the top which is Walnut is in very good condition for a Revolutionary War era piece. Notice the gaps in the tongue and groove back boards . Over 200 years have passed to create this shrinkage which is what should be there on a piece of this age.
